About the role

 

We are seeking to add to our dynamic team of support personnel who enjoy working at various locations throughout the Sydney metropolitan area. As a registered charity and public benevolent institution, Your Aged Care at Home, aims to provide the highest quality in-home aged care services to our clients and their carers. The successful applicant must be able to start immediately and will undergo induction, orientation and training before receiving a permanent schedule.

Previous experience in working with aged care will be highly desirable as the role will require regular chronic wound care management, catheter care, lymphedema care, pressure care as well as ensuring compliance with clinical governance standards.

This position requires a great deal of flexibility and there is potential for full-time work for the right applicant.

Skills and experience

 

We are currently seeking to employ an experienced Registered Nurse on a casual basis (6 month probationary period) to join our dynamic team of support workers who provide exceptional aged care services to our clients who wish to remain living at home.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Current Professional registration with AHPRA

  • Experience in the delivery of care outcomes for older people and/or people with disability

  • Experience in providing clinical care to high care clients who are bed bound and high risk of pressure injuries

  • Experience in Catheter care and PEG care

  • Experience in Lymphedema care 

  • Excellent communication and reporting skills

  • Ability to work with limited supervision

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders

  • Demonstrated safe work practices, infection control and manual handling skills

  • Current National Police Certificate for working in Aged Care

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

  • Advanced Wound Care qualifications

  • Previous experience in provision of community nursing services to aged care clients

For this position you must reliable, have empathy for the elderly/disabled, have a current drivers licence, your own comprehensively insured car, mobile telephone and internet access. Ability to work weekends would be viewed favourably.

Work locations vary but are predominantly in the Bankstown LGA and Inner Western, South West and Western regions.
