Christmas Party 2023

We had a wonderful time at our annual Christmas lunch where our clients enjoyed delicious food, listened to carols together, as well as play bingo - with our winners winning some prizes!

 

It was a lovely time and we are thankful for all our clients, staff and volunteers who made this day so special!

Pyjama Day Fundraising

On August 2023, Your Aged Care At Home staff had an absolute blast celebrating National Pyjama Day, coming together for a shared lunch & getting cosy in our pj’s to raise awareness and much-needed funds for kids in care.

Thank you to everyone who joined in and donated, our team at @youragedcareathome raised just over $700!

Staff Farewell

On July 2023, we had to say farewell to our wonderful Rostering Manager, Snezana (Snez)!

 

Snez has worked with us for 5 years, working tireless to ensure the seamless provision of services required for our clients.

After all her amazing hard work with us, Snez will now be embarking on her new journey as a retiree. Snez, we appreciate and honour you for all that you are. Thank you, you will be missed by all!

Winterfest 2023

On June 2023 we hosted our mid-year luncheon and we had a wonderful time! We enjoyed some chatter, food, music and playing Bingo with our clients. We would like to thank our clients, staff and volunteers for making our Winterfest lunch so special!

Biggest Morning Tea

On May 2023, we held our Biggest Morning Tea Our lovely staff brought some tasty treats to share. Each year, Cancer Council holds a fundraising campaign to help support cancer research and cancer patients.

 

We're thrilled to announce that we raised $1,110 to support cancer research and those impacted by cancer.

Thank you all for your generosity that makes a difference. Together, we can strive towards making a brighter future.

Easter/Eid Donations 2023

On April 2023, we had the privilege of distributing some charitable goods during the blessed and festive season of Easter and Eid!

We donated children's toys and items to refugee families in the community with the help of representatives from كنيسة رجاء الأمم سيدنى Hope Church NSW and IWAA Australia, as well as FoodBank Eid Boxes with the help of Enhance supports & services.

We are thankful to our generous partners Good360 Australia for supplying us with lego sets, kids toys, and books, and Foodbank NSW & ACT for the food hampers that gave us the opportunity to give back to the community.

Christmas Party 2022

We had an amazing time celebrating the holiday season with our elderly clients at our annual Christmas party! It was a joy to see the smiles on their faces as we shared a delicious meal and listened to festive music.

Our clients are the heart and soul of our organisation, and it was an honour to spend this special occasion with them. We are grateful for the opportunity to create meaningful memories and provide a sense of community during this time of year.

Thank you to our volunteers, staff, and supporters who made this event possible.

Each year, as a registered charity, we always look forward to giving and supporting those in our community that are vulnerable, come from disadvantaged backgrounds or are in need.

 

This Christmas, we were so grateful to have partnered with Share the Dignity and Good360 Australia to distribute various goods to our community!

We ended the year distributing feminine hygiene products, continence supplies, ladies handbags, kids Lego boxsets, children's school supplies and stationary, and other assorted essentials.

We would like to thank all our partners for their support and looking forward to another year where we can work together in supporting others this 2023!

Father's Day 2022

For Father's day, we had the privilege of sending out Father's day hampers to those in our community that are disadvantaged and in need. These hampers included goods that would help and assist with the recepients' day to day activities.

 

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Father's day! Special thanks to Good360 Australia for providing the goodies for us to distribute to the community!

STEPtember Fundraising

Thank you to everyone who participated in the STEPtember Challenge! As a team, we walked and made an incredible amount of money to donate to the CPAlliance.

We exceeded our goal of $1500 and reached a grand total of $1737! Collectively our team walked a total of 3,000,803 Steps. A donation of $1737 will provide vital therapy, programs and services to children and adults living with cerebral palsy, and further research and innovation.

Pyjama Day Fundraising

Thank you to everyone who participated in Pyjama Day! As a team, we made an incredible amount of money to donate to The Pyjama Foundation. We exceeded our goal of $1000 and reached a grand total of $1334!

A donation of $1334 will allow the Pyjama Foundation to not only receive brand new books, educational resources, and training kits for mentors, but also to support one child with their very own mentor who will visit every week, sparking a love of learning!

We had the privilege of holding our annual Jani mid-summer celebration event on June 22, 2022 at the Latvian Lutheran Church hall in Homebush. We were grateful to have hosted a wonderful event where both our clients and staff got to mingle while enjoying food, traditional Latvian singing and dancing.

 

​Also a big thank you to Helen’s Catering for feeding all of our hungry guests! We had a range of delicious savoury cocktail finger foods, fresh roast meats and gourmet desserts.

 

We greatly appreciate the help from all of our volunteers, staff, and clients, as well as their time. We hope that we will be able to continue to meet in the near future.

Share the Dignity 2022

​We received a generous donation of feminine hygiene products from our charity partner Share the Dignity. Many of these items have been donated to single mothers and victims of domestic violence who are struggling to make ends meet.

 

The Islamic Women's Association of Australia (IWAA) and YACAH have teamed up to supply these products directly to those affected.

 

We would like to thank both IWAA and Share the Dignity for their significant contribution.

Biggest Morning Tea 2022

1 in 2 Australians are diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85. We were thrilled to host the Biggest Morning Tea for the second year at the YACAH office.

To support those affected by cancer, proceeds from this morning tea will be donated to the Cancer Council.

We raised a total of $2258! We would like to thank everyone who has contributed.

Just before the NSW lockdowns, we had the privilege of holding our annual Jani mid-summer celebration event on June 17, 2021 at the Latvian Lutheran Church hall in Homebush. We were grateful to have held a gathering where our clients and staff could mingle and share food and conversations together, as well as music and singing.

 

Also a huge shout out to Coast to Coast the Golden Roast- Australia for feeding all of our hungry guests!

We would like to thank all our volunteers and staff for their contribution and our clients for their time. We hope that we are able to continue to gather together again in the unforeseeable future.

Biggest Morning Tea 2021

We were excited to have hosted our very first Biggest Morning Tea here in the YACAH office. This morning tea would help raise funds for Cancer Council to support people impacted by cancer.

We had a wonderful morning and raised $1,124.50. We would like to thank all who have contributed.

Eid Hampers

During Eid, we had the pleasure of giving out hampers to some of our amazing clients who celebrated Eid. Additionally, we distributed treats provided by Good360 Australia. We love seeing the lovely smiles and faces of our clients!

For this Christmas, we were thrilled to have delivered gifts to our clients and seeing the smiles in their faces in these times. This has been a challenging year to many, and what better way to end this year with the Christmas spirit of generosity and gift-giving.

We would like to thank Share the Dignity and Good360 Australia for the Christmas gift packs, and all of our partners who have worked together with us in these challenging times. We wish for a hopeful year in 2021.

Post-Lockdown - COVID-19

So far the year 2020 has been anything but normal. Health and safety concerns are at an all time high with the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) worldwide and the unusual detection of Ross River Virus (RRV) around the South West.

We have heightened all hygiene and sanitary measures to protect the well-being of all our wonderful elderly/disabled clients and staff members.

The generosity of our partner charities is crucial during these trying times. We would like to say a big thank you to Good360 Australia for providing not only cleaning products and toilet paper for our at home clients but also a massive 200 mosquito zappers to provide to those in RRV risk areas.

January to March 2020 - Bushfire Relief

Your Aged Care at Home supported bushfire victims at Cobargo in January by donating excess Christmas Appeal Goods to Toddlers Ink Children's Learning Centre (Childcare centre in Greenacre).

In March, Karen Goderie kindly represented our team by travelling out to Blackheath Public School to donate some children supplies to help support families affected by the fires. We would like to thank Good360 Australia for supplying most of the goods that were donated which included books and Legos.

Additional books were also supplied to pre-schoolers at Hazelbrook.

Christmas 2019 -
Christmas Appeal

During the final quarter of 2019, Your Aged Care at Home joined forces with many organisations across Sydney to help bring Christmas joy to disadvantaged families with little or no support to make ends meet.

 

Many of the families that required assistance varied from groups such as refugees, asylum seekers, immigrants, financially disadvantaged, the elderly as well as disability groups.

28th June 2019 - June "Flu Bank" Friday

On Friday 28th of June we held our end of Month Food Bank Friday.

 

Commonwealth Bank of Australia Bankstown has kindly supported this event again with the donation of non-perishable food as well as assistance packing and serving the community.

A special mention goes to Muntaha and her husband, refugees from Northern Iraq for also volunteering their time to making the day a success. Food parcels and winter supplies were packed and taken to her refugee group as well as the Hope of Nations church.

20th June 2019 - Annual Jani Event sponsored by Bunnings Greenacre

On the 20th of June we held our Annual Jani Lunch for clients and their families as well as our staff and guests.

Everyone was treated to a 3 course meal as well as some traditional Latvian singing.

31st May 2019 - Winter Event (Food Bank Friday)

On Friday 31st of May we held our end of Month Food Bank Friday.

During our event we had a special guest Pranita Douya, Business Owner of Moorebank Amcal Pharmacy supporting the local community about the dangers of winter and how to get your vaccinations against influenza.

In addition, Commonwealth Bank of Australia Bankstown Centro Branch Manager, Mahmoud Kanj visited Your Aged Care at Home to present their community grant in support of our charity works.

3rd May 2019 - Diamond Women's Support

Diamond Women's Support will be having their Mother's Day Low Tea on Saturday the 11th of May.

Your Aged Care at Home will be supporting the event with special Mother's Day gift bags (pictures).

26th April 2019 - Mother's Day Event (Food Bank Friday)

On Friday the 26th of April, Your Aged Care at Home held a special Mother's Day Charity Event.

During this event, we gave out special Mother's Day gift packs to local Mother's who are struggling with day to day essentials.

21st April 2019 - Easter Sunday Donations

On Easter Sunday 2019; Your Aged Care at Home visited multiple Churches to donate collected Easter Eggs from our Annual Easter Event to disadvantaged and refugee children.

 

A big thank you goes out to Karen G and Theresa L for their efforts on this day to support these Churches.

Kids Cricket Bats

Many thanks to Sonali Gupta (Pictured) from Mortdale Cricket Club for their donation of junior cricket bats and balls!

 

These have been distributed to children with disabilities and refugee kids from Hope of Nations Church.

29th March 2019 - Annual Easter Event

On Friday the 29th of March 2019, we held our Annual Easter Event during our regular Food Bank Friday.

Easter Eggs were kindly donated by our support workers, as well as, The Reject Shop, Kmart Bankstown and McArthur. These eggs will be donated to refugee groups as well as a few local churches this Easter.

1st March 2019 - Kids Toy Drive

On Friday the 1st of March 2019, we held a special Kids Toys and school supplies drive during our regular Food Bank Charity Event.

Toys and School supplies were kindly donated to the public as well the Hope of Nations Arabic Church.

Bunnings Christmas Party 2018

20th December 2018 - Bunnings Greenacre Sponsored Christmas Party

Your Aged Care at Home hosted its Client Christmas Party for on the 20th of December.

 

In addition to our clients, we were also joined by local members of the Latvian community as well as all of our staff and their families.

It was a great event with many stories being shared and gifts being exchanged.

 

Our local Bunnings Greenacre also dropped by for a visit accompanied by Santa Claus to hand out gifts to everyone in attendance.

 

We are looking forward to hosting this event next year for Christmas and many more years to come!

14th December 2018 - Hope of Nations Arabic Church

Pictured is Pastor Ashraf and Ralph from Hope of Nations Arabic church at Smithfield. 

Your Aged Care at Home assisted this Community outreach by donating two deliveries of toiletries, bedding and Food from our Foodbank programme to a group of refugees the Church look after as part of our Community Charity Campaign.

These gentlemen assist and support new refugees from Syria and Iraq who are receiving some assistance from Centrelink.

The Hope of Nations Arabic Church provides lunch at the church and organize social outings at parks and had a big demand over the Christmas period.

The contribution was greatly appreciated by the Church and are in need of support from the Food Bank program to continue assisting those people as well as donations.

Pastor Ashraf and Ralph continue to need our help and donations can be directed to Your Aged Care at Home or directly to the church.

3rd December 2018 - Refugee Charity Drop

Pictured is Pastor Sami Youkhana who is doing great work with refugees from Northern Iraq, Syria and other parts of the Middle East.

As demands are high at Christmas, we were able to pass on some KINDLY DONATED parcels as well as a gift of 6 coffee sets to support some of the refugee families and singles he looks after at Hoxton Park.

We also passed on Information about accessing the Home Care Packages Programme as well as the National Disability Scheme in both English and Arabic.

30th November 2018 - Food Bank Open Day #2

Your Aged Care at Home held its second Food Bank Open Day just before the Christmas season to help support the local community here at Bankstown. Tables were setup and over 50 food parcels were assembled for distribution to the public.

Remaining parcels were kindly distributed at the Riverwood Public Housing Estate where many residents struggle to make ends meet.

Additionally, Grant Duong (Podiatrist/Director) of the Triumph Institute at Bankstown attended the event to also help support the local community. 9th November 2018 - Food Bank Open Day

Your Aged Care at Home held its first Food Bank open day on Friday 9th of November 2018.

We set up our tables outside the office with over 400kg of fresh fruit, vegetables, bread, juice and much more.

The event was held to support the local aged and disability community here at Bankstown.

Later that evening we transported the remaining food parcels for distribution at Riverwood Public Housing Estate. All recipients were extremely grateful.

9th November 2018 - Bunnings Greenacre Client Donation

A huge thank you to Bunnings Greenacre for their generous donation of a portable air conditioning unit to one of our clients!

Mr Ali's health has been impacted by the recent heatwaves and was unable to afford to buy his own air conditioning unit.

Bunnings were generous enough to donate the product towards his cause and with the assistance of Reda from UDS (Ultimate Disability Services), he also had it installed in his house free of charge.
